Captain Cartier Keez

42 Keez born William Choates, is a talented rapper and producer from the south side of Chicago. Honing in on his love for music in the church, at a young age 42 Keez fell in love with hip-hop and more specifically the art of “freestyle battling”. After experimenting and developing a nache for being able to put words together in a clever way, 42 Keez interest turned to writing actual songs. However he lacked the resources needed to acquire music or beats for him to write his songs to. This later lead to 42 Keez buying a beat making program and self teaching himself how to make beats. Initially he only made beats for himself, but the year of 2010 would change that.

In 2010, Mello of E.L.I.T.E M.I.N.D management and a Chicago rapper by the name of PEADY took 42 Keez under their wing & started developing the talented beat maker/ rapper. By the age of 24 he has produced tracks for several local & regional artists such as PEADY, PHENOM, Suave Da Lyricist, Smokey Da Bandit, Xxtra, Griffen, Big Homie Doe, Mike 100s, J Frank, YP, LP Da Assassin, The Wright Connectionz (TWC), PC Da Southboy. Most recently Keez has also done production for national artist such as New York emcee EL Gant of Ivy League, the first lady of Rhymesayers; Psalm One & the Chi-Town Legend TWISTA. 
 
Early 2012, 42 Keez was featured in his 1st music video alongside his protege' PEADY. The video directed by premiere Chicago Director Aaron Perkins, Jr. was for PEADY's single "Nothing Compares" which 42 Keez produced & dropped a memorable verse on. In late 2012, 42 Keez released his 1st & 2nd Street Singles "KRAZY" & the fan favorite "PROPER". The music video for “Krazy” helped to elevate Keez as one of the buzzing young artist in the Chicago music scene. Sept. 4, 2012 marked Keez first major placement with the release of the TWISTA Reloaded" Mixtape. Keez is currently working with TWISTA and a host of other national and indie artist on everything from mixtapes to EP’s to full length LP’s. Keez is expecting his first placement on a major album very soon.
 
42 Keez, a triple threat talent is not only working on production with premiere Chicago and indie artist but he also released his debut album entitled "BAR-TILLERY" in July of 2014. BAR-TILLERY premiered on the very reputable Hip-Hop publication TheSource.com and since then has earned 42 Keez a reputation as not just one of the premiere Hip-Hop producers in Chicago but also notoriety as one of who’s to watch artist in the nation.
